Chapter 243: Ch.242 Mister Sinister

In other words, it turned them into de-boned meat paste.

Beside it, there were several large barrels and carts, presumably used for transporting the resulting materials.

Su Ming squinted. The scene gave him a bad feeling.

Raw materials, samples, failed experiments, sewers, and mutants...

"Huh? There\'s a small door over there. Let me check it out," Deadpool said, scanning the surroundings, but not for threats. He was searching for anything fun or interesting. A meat grinder wasn\'t exactly cool, so his focus shifted to the walls. Maybe there were posters from this era that he could collect?

That\'s when he noticed a hidden small door, almost perfectly flush with the wall. If not for the faint dust marks around it, it would\'ve been nearly impossible to detect.

Deadpool bit his finger like Forrest Gump and pulled out his katana, heading toward the small door.

The door was tight, so he wedged his sword into the crack and pried it open.

"Ahoy! Is it sewer treasure? Hmm, why doesn\'t that sound very exciting... whatever. Heh, Deadpool\'s here! Raise the sails, boys!"

Pulling a pirate hat out of his pocket, Deadpool popped it onto his head, cackled mischievously, and squeezed through the door.

Before Su Ming could even register the sound of the door, it suddenly burst open with a violent slam against the wall. A moment later, Deadpool flew out like a cannonball, crashing through the wall and ending up back in the first factory room where they had fought earlier.

"Attack!"

Su Ming didn\'t hesitate. He emptied his ammo into the small doorway and threw in a grenade. Monarch immediately followed up with a black fireball spell, tossing it through the door.

After a series of violent explosions, the small doorway burned with dark flames. Yet, from within, a figure slowly, almost casually, walked out.

The figure was nearly six feet three inches tall, dressed like a vampire straight out of a coffin—elegant, yet ancient.

He wore a high-collared cloak, almost identical to Su Ming\'s magic cloak, except his had legs like a spider\'s, folded in an inverted position and jet black.

The flames seemed to avoid him. He was completely untouched, without a scratch on him.

His face was deathly pale, and there was a red diamond-shaped mark on his forehead, much like a playing card\'s "diamond" symbol, now glowing ominously.

Each bullet Su Ming fired hovered in front of the figure, as if glued in place, frozen midair. When Su Ming and Horowitz reloaded, the bullets clattered to the ground.

The symbiote tried to seize the moment, grabbing a plasma gun from the other room and firing a shot, but the energy bolt was similarly stopped by an invisible shield before being extinguished into nothing.

Su Ming holstered his pistol, signaling the sorcerer and doctor to retreat and provide backup. He recognized this enemy, and even if he and Deadpool fought together, they would be at a serious disadvantage.

This pale figure with a red mark on his forehead was Nathaniel Essex, better known by his alias: Mister Sinister.

He was a scientific madman from the Victorian era, one of the greatest biologists England had ever produced.

In 1859, when Charles Darwin published On the Origin of Species, introducing his famous theory of evolution, Nathaniel Essex realized Darwin\'s theories closely aligned with his own. But Essex\'s research went further, focusing on genetics and heredity, ideas that were far ahead of their time.

He published his own paper, predicting the future direction of human evolution and foretelling the birth of a new race of mutants. He claimed humanity would possess superpowers, that flight and invisibility would become common, and that the future would belong to beings with god-like abilities.

However, the mid-19th century was an era steeped in superstition and dominated by the church. The prevailing belief was that God had created humans, and this was the accepted consensus.

Darwin\'s claim that humans evolved from monkeys had already caused an uproar, with the entire scientific community attacking him for his audacity, desperately trying to poke holes in his theory.

Then Nathaniel Essex appeared, spouting ideas that sounded even more heretical. Society exploded in response.

He was branded a cultist, a madman, an unclean demon. People threw all kinds of labels on him. Even his landlord wouldn\'t allow him to stay, and the police refused to help him.

If Darwin was publicly vilified, Essex had it much worse. His research was halted, he was driven from his home, starving and destitute. His wife eventually fell ill and died.

On her deathbed, she continually muttered one word: "sinister"—a reflection of how cruel and treacherous the world had become, how cold and indifferent people had grown. Her sorrow drove her to an early grave.

This was the breaking point for Essex. He renamed himself Mister Sinister and began using his scientific knowledge to unlock the world\'s hidden secrets.

People dismissed his research on mutants as fantasy and believed the Bible was the true word of creation. So Essex set out to find mutants, wherever the Bible or tall tales mentioned them, to prove them wrong.

He traveled to Egypt and successfully found the slumbering Apocalypse.

Essex wasn\'t just a biologist; he was also a genius in physics and chemistry. Using his expertise, he managed to awaken the first—and most powerful—mutant to ever exist.

He explained his plight to Apocalypse, declaring that survival of the fittest was a natural law and that mutants would one day rule the world. But foolish humans rejected this reality, mocked him, and refused to accept the truth.

Apocalypse, having slept for thousands of years, was delighted by this speech. After all, Essex was right. Mutants would rule the world, and Apocalypse would be their god!

Essex was simply stating facts, but Apocalypse saw it as refreshing flattery, leaving him in a euphoric mood.

In his excitement, Apocalypse granted Essex an extraordinary upgrade.

With just a touch, Apocalypse altered Essex\'s genes, transforming him into an Omega-level mutant.

Immortal, with vastly enhanced power.

"You say people don\'t understand you? I give you telepathy so you can read their minds and stay one step ahead."

"You say they bullied you? I give you super strength and all the ancient martial arts, so you can strike with earth-shattering power and walk the skies."

"You say you\'re starving? I give you advanced healing, so you never need worry about food or drink again."

"You love science? I give you telekinesis, energy blasts, and all manner of psychic powers to help with your experiments."

Apocalypse, in his generosity, bestowed nearly every ability he could think of onto Mister Sinister, treating him like his top disciple.

Essex, who had endured decades of hardship, suddenly had his "golden finger" activated. Apocalypse became like the wise elder from an ancient pyramid, and with his help, Mister Sinister quickly ascended to greatness.

When an underdog rises, there\'s only one thing left to do: exact revenge.
