Multiverse: Deathstroke

Chapter 244: Ch.243 History

Chapter 244: Ch.243 History

In truth, Mister Sinister had no idea about any so-called glorious history of Apocalypse. He was simply manipulating him to destroy London to avenge his own misfortunes and the death of his wife.

For him, Darwin was the only person in London worth saving; everyone else deserved death.

Apocalypse, hearing these lies, was instantly displeased. After all, back in ancient Egypt, he had helped conqueror Kang in battle, earned widespread fame, assisted Imhotep in leading humanity against the alien Brood invaders, and even founded the Brotherhood of the Shield.

Although he eventually grew bored and went to sleep in his pyramid, it angered him that the modern world had forgotten him.

Apocalypse decided it was time to make a grand return.

He quickly absorbed modern scientific knowledge and guided Mister Sinister to perfect a bioweapon, giving him the means to personally destroy London and take his revenge.

This is what a true mentor should do.

Everything was progressing smoothly, and it seemed London was about to be wiped out quietly and efficiently.

However, two X-Men arrived from the future, spoiling their plans.

Cyclops\' abilities were no match for Apocalypse, who merely flicked his fingers and knocked him out cold.

But Jean Grey was a different matter entirely.

Jean, who was initially being utterly overwhelmed, suddenly transformed into the Phoenix. With the power of the Phoenix Force unleashed, she took Apocalypse down with a single blow.

Seeing the situation go south, Mister Sinister wasted no time in fleeing. He was well-versed in abandoning allies when things went wrong.

Jean, now as the Phoenix, didn\'t bother pursuing him. She captured Apocalypse, dragged him back to Egypt, and used the Phoenix Force to seal him in a hidden pyramid once again. Then, dragging Cyclops along, she hurried back to the future.

Even the Phoenix had things to fear. Although she had controlled her outburst of power, she could feel a distant gaze from Nepal watching her across space. That calm gaze made even the Phoenix Force within her tremble uneasily.

And so, Mister Sinister was left with both power and freedom, haunted by memories of London at night, where a fiery red Phoenix soared through the sky.

It was the most beautiful, most powerful force he had ever seen.

Determined, he resumed his previous research on mutants, with a goal of replicating the Phoenix Force in his laboratory.

Though a scientist with immense power, he wasn\'t particularly good at making money. So, using his powers, he changed his appearance and fled to America.

After Germany started researching mutants, it was Mister Sinister who suggested to the U.S. President the idea of a scientific competition. He pushed for and participated in nearly every human weapon program in the U.S.—from the Captain America serum to the creation of the Human Torch and the hunting of mutants. His hand was everywhere.

Why not do research with other people\'s money? The Americans, with their bottomless wealth, were the perfect sponsors for his research, and it progressed rapidly.

He operated in the U.S. for decades, eventually climbing so high in the government that he could vacation and drink with the president. Even FDR praised him as one of the greatest biologists in American history.

Compared to him, scientists like Dr. Erskine were mere assistants.

However, when war broke out between Germany and the U.S., Mister Sinister left America, abandoning his previous identity and joining the Führer\'s cause. Germany seemed stronger and more likely to win, and the Führer\'s ideology aligned more closely with his own.

Hitler: "Survival of the fittest. The superior race should have everything."

Mister Sinister: "Survival of the fittest. The superior race should be worshipped."

Both: "Comrades!"

The only difference was that Hitler was referring to Aryans, while Mister Sinister was referring to mutants.

Mister Sinister was a master of deception. He became Hitler\'s chief biological science advisor, earning the Führer\'s trust. Whenever there was a biological problem, Mister Sinister was the first to be consulted, and the Third Reich provided full funding for his experiments.

However, his main project wasn\'t the Atlanteans; it was another secret Nazi plan.

His interest in Namor stemmed from a request he made himself. After learning that Hydra had captured Namor, Mister Sinister obtained a piece of Namor\'s tissue to study hybrid mutant genetics.

He set a small goal for himself: to clone one hundred million Namors!

Once that was done, he could patiently wait for the Phoenix to reappear and then seize its power to rule the world.

At that point, no one could persecute him anymore.

Driven by his deep hatred for London, Mister Sinister secretly returned with his team. Since his research involved the Atlantean throne, U-Man sent his minions across the English Channel to assist Sinister with equipment and supplies.

The explosions that the Kobolds had sensed earlier weren\'t caused by explosives; they were Mister Sinister using his own energy to dig a new laboratory.

But the experiments weren\'t going as smoothly as he had hoped. Human technology still couldn\'t rival nature\'s work. His hybrid mutant creations were far from his expectations.

Frustrated, he blamed the inadequacies of the lab, and, partly out of rage and partly to cover his tracks, he began dismantling the facility with his own hands.

That small door led to his new lab. When Su Ming and the others arrived, he had been deeper underground, slaughtering Kobolds.

He had just cleared a path to an underground world, surprised to find a vast and filthy ecosystem beneath London\'s sewers. Disgusted by the constant chatter of the creatures, he slaughtered them all.

He didn\'t know what kind of creatures they were, but they didn\'t seem to have any potential for evolution. Plus, they were ugly.

After venting his anger on the animals, he decided to return to check on the progress of his equipment and instruments.

Unexpectedly, the first thing he saw upon returning was a strange man in a pirate hat, reeking horribly, sneaking into his lab.

Mister Sinister unleashed a telekinetic blast that sent the man flying, at a speed of Mach 2. No one could survive such an attack.

Sinister himself could fly using telekinesis, but he first shielded himself with it and then strolled out to see who was bold enough to intrude.

That was what happened just before Mister Sinister and Su Ming crossed paths.

"Oh? New York\'s most feared assassin, the legendary Deathstroke. I\'ve heard your name often. It\'s truly an honor to meet you today," Mister Sinister remarked, briefly surprised to see Su Ming but quickly regaining his gentlemanly composure, nodding politely.

Su Ming didn\'t lower his guard. If Thanos and Apocalypse were overtly dangerous like lions or tigers, Mister Sinister was a venomous snake—deceptive and treacherous, his malice barely concealed.

He was a mad scientist with paranoid delusions, constantly feeling threatened and always ready to eliminate anyone he deemed dangerous.
