The Young Urban Doctor

Chapter 462: Unwilling to Let it Go

But after sleeping for a little over an hour, she woke up.

Startled awake without reason.

After waking, she immediately lost all desire to sleep.

She got up, walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, and looked up at the sky tinted red by the city’s neon lights.

Without the moon or stars in sight, Ouyang Feifei suddenly felt a surge of panic.

Thinking back on the day’s events, she felt utterly dejected.

Her once haughty pride had been shattered today because Yang Qingyin had come with Luo Ziling.

She knew that it wasn’t Luo Ziling who brought Yang Qingyin over today; it was Yang Qingyin who had asked to come.

It wasn’t that Yang Qingyin forced her to stay away from Luo Ziling, but rather a direct show of strength.

Yang Qingyin had made it clear that her relationship with Luo Ziling was out of the ordinary and advised her to take the hint.

For people of their status, many things didn’t need to be spelled out to get their point across.

What she said to Yang Qingyin today was much too blunt, which was highly unusual for her.

Of course, she also felt that having said so much today, and still being outmaneuvered by Yang Qingyin, she had miserably failed.

Today was the first formal meeting between her and Yang Qingyin, and although she had put up a fight, she still ended up losing to Yang Qingyin.

No matter what had happened earlier, the fact that Yang Qingyin and Luo Ziling left her villa hand in hand in the end, showed she had failed.

Ouyang Feifei, having never tasted defeat, was of course very uncomfortable.

Initially, she had approached Luo Ziling out of revenge; later, it was to compete with Yang Qingyin.

But all outcomes pointed to her failure, and naturally, she couldn’t accept it.

Yang Qingyin faced more difficulties than her; the enmity between the Yang and Luo families was not so easily resolved. Yet now, Luo Ziling’s attitude toward her was changing, and his impression of her was improving. Ouyang Feifei refused to concede and was even less willing to lose to Yang Qingyin.

She had always believed she was better than Yang Qingyin, so when many referred to her and Yang Qingyin as the “Yanjing Beauties,” she was not convinced. She was the most beautiful, talented, and outstanding woman in Yanjing, superior to Yang Qingyin.

After meeting Yang Qingyin today, she still felt that she was more beautiful than Yang Qingyin and had a better figure.

Thus, her naturally proud nature could not accept such a defeat.

“No matter what, I have to win Luo Ziling over and let Yang Qingyin taste defeat,” Ouyang Feifei vowed in the darkness, “It has nothing to do with love; it’s about a woman’s pride and self-esteem.”

Having made her decision, she felt somewhat relieved, lay back down in bed to sleep, and soon drifted off to dreamland.

As Ouyang Feifei fell into dreamland, Luo Ziling and Yang Qingyin just happened to be reaching the school gates.

On their way back to school, Luo Ziling had suggested calling Ye Xiaoli for a ride or hailing a taxi, but Yang Qingyin didn’t agree; she wanted to walk back to school with Luo Ziling.

Yang Qingyin insisted, and Luo Ziling naturally agreed.

The two of them walked hand in hand, something Luo Ziling really enjoyed doing.

Meanwhile, Yang Qingyin felt like she had gone a bit too far today and was a bit guilty towards Luo Ziling, so she also expressed her enthusiasm quite actively.

When they reached a dark, deserted spot, she even suddenly kissed him. She also held onto his arm as they walked.

This made Luo Ziling very happy.

Halfway through their walk, Yang Qingyin even took the initiative to suggest they have a late-night snack.

After having a late-night snack at a wonton shop by the roadside, they continued walking all the way to the school.

By the time they returned to the school, it was quite late, nearly ten o’clock.

When Luo Ziling was escorting her back to the girls’ dormitory, Yang Qingyin took advantage of the darkness to hug him and kiss him again, actively showing her affection.

Luo Ziling wasn’t the slightest bit displeased, and he was actually glad that because of this incident, he received so many enthusiastic and proactive expressions of affection from Yang Qingyin.

He was considering creating more opportunities in the future for Yang Qingyin to become jealous and behave out of character so that she would make up for it in some way.

When he returned to the dormitory, the other three guys were already lying in their beds ready to sleep, and all of them poked their heads out when they saw him come back.

“Boss, I can smell a woman’s scent on you again. Did you go back to your place?” Cao Jianhui asked Luo Ziling seriously. “If you answer that way, we’re going to be angry.”

After sniffing himself, Luo Ziling indeed found that he had a woman’s scent on him, likely from Yang Qingyin.

However, there was also a strong smell of sweat, and the mixing of the two scents wasn’t very pleasant.

“Went to treat someone, just like the acupuncture therapy I did for Mr. Wang the other day, it’s really draining. I won’t lie to you, it was a female patient, totally exhausted me, I almost passed out. I’m going to take a shower, believe it if you want,” Luo Ziling explained briefly, then began looking for clothes to prepare for a shower.

His explanation, of course, was met with disdain from his fellow students, but Luo Ziling didn’t pay them any mind.

After Luo Ziling had taken a bath and gotten back into bed, those three guys started talking about tomorrow night’s treat from Ouyang Huihui.

“Boss, these two guys said that Ouyang Huihui’s companion today was pretty good, and they’re a bit smitten. They want you to create an opportunity for them!” Cao Jianhui said with a chuckle. “You have to create an opportunity for them. If you don’t help out, they’re going to hate you for life.”

“Just one female classmate, are you two beasts going to fight over her?” Luo Ziling replied with a smile. “Might as well just fight it out right now, see who’s tougher, and let the winner take his shot.”

“Are there any other pretty friends in Ouyang Huihui’s dorm?” Cao Jianhui asked with a snicker. “If there are, there won’t be any conflict, and no need to fight.”

“Ask her yourselves, I don’t know anything,” Luo Ziling said and then took out his phone to check it.

“Anyway, her roommates aren’t bad either, we’ll probably meet them tomorrow,” Cao Jianhui remarked, then announced loudly, “Okay, let’s stop discussing this and go to sleep. No one talks now.”

The other two guys, who still wanted to make some noise, had no choice but to shut up and each started playing with their phones.

There were two missed calls, both from Chen Xiaoyi, and another one from an unknown number called around the same time.

Looking at the time, it had been about two hours since Chen Xiaoyi’s calls, and Luo Ziling didn’t plan to call back.

When Luo Ziling opened WeChat, there were quite a few messages waiting.

There were several messages from Chen Xiaoyi.

Opening them, they were invitations to have a late-night snack.

After that, she asked why he didn’t answer the phone.

After a moment of thought, Luo Ziling replied with a message, saying he had things to do tonight and didn’t bring his phone, so he didn’t know anything. He had just returned to the dormitory when he saw the missed calls and messages. But he didn’t wait for a response from Chen Xiaoyi and didn’t bother with it further.

There were two friend requests on WeChat, both from accounts with pretty women in the profile pictures, which he didn’t hesitate to delete.

Cao Jianhui had said that if someone adds you on WeChat with a pretty woman’s picture, they are either running an online business, recruiting for private investments, or they’re scammers.

But what Luo Ziling didn’t realize was that because of this small matter, several women were taking offense, and this led to trouble for him.
