Chapter 81 - 081: This is an Immortal!
Bai Chuwei took a deep breath of the spiritual energy emanating from his body, suddenly feeling that this wave wasn’t a loss.
Bai Chuwei decisively wrapped her arms around Duan Feihan, and her slender fingers stiffened upon touching the man’s impeccably straight back.
Duan Feihan’s suit was soaked with cold sweat, as if he had just been pulled out of water.
He… seemed to have gone mad with worry.
The young girl in his arms gave no response and simply squeezed further into his embrace, prompting the man with the magnetic voice to abruptly raise his tone, “What exactly is wrong with you?”
Duan Feihan pulled her away, his crimson eyes looking at her intently.
The girl’s skin was fair, her stunning face showing no pores, and at this moment, only her dress was a little dusty as her bright eyes stared straight at him.
Hug, already!
Why won’t you hug me now?
Duan Feihan’s broad palm had already reached her face, his fingers tracing her cheek, moving through her black hair to the back of her head.
It was only then that Bai Chuwei reacted, struggling slightly as she said, “I’m fine, how could I possibly be hurt?”
Regretfully glancing at Duan Feihan, Bai Chuwei walked towards Duan Xingye and unceremoniously kicked him, “How much longer are you going to lie there? Did your great ancestor not warn you not to leave the tutoring class? Wait for me and your uncle to finish dinner and come pick you up, will you?”
It suddenly dawned on Bai Chuwei that she might not have paid the taxi fare when she took the cab?
Duan Xingye sat up from the ground, staring blankly at the crowd that had gathered around to watch.
He looked at his own arm, perfectly unharmed.
There was no blood on the ground, and his intestines and brain matter hadn’t splattered out…
How could this be?
“Strange, strange, falling from the top floor and both unscathed?”
“My goodness, it’s my first time seeing someone jump from so high and not be hurt at all!”
“Are these two aliens or what?”
“…”
Discussions erupted among the onlookers, with some well-meaning individuals asking if they needed an ambulance.
Duan Xingye scrambled to his feet, his eyes excitedly fixed on Bai Chuwei.
He wasn’t dead? He had actually survived!
He remembered that Bai Chuwei had appeared out of thin air; there was no one on the rooftop at the time…
If not for Bai Chuwei, he might have been smashed to death!
Duan Xingye blurted out excitedly and somewhat incoherently, “Weiwei, my goddess, was it you who saved me? I…”
Is this even human?
She had taken him with her in a jump from a hundred-meter height off the thirty-second floor, unscathed.
Not only was he uninjured, but with his current physical condition, he could even write another set of exam papers!
An immortal indeed!
My goddess!
The entrance of the office building was noisy with the news of someone jumping off. The security guards were nearly scared out of their wits.
Someone jumped off a building?
They heard it was a young student, which made the situation even more serious.
A group of security guards rushed towards the crowd and saw two students, unharmed; the boy was even dancing with excitement, while the girl stood with her arms crossed and a nonchalant expression, making it hard to tell at a glance whether either of them had mental health issues.
The eyes of the head security guard landed on the comparatively more normal Duan Feihan and he inquired, “May I ask your relationship with them?”
Duan Feihan gave Duan Xingye a sidelong glance and said, “He’s my nephew.”
The security guards’ captain nodded, as if suddenly realizing something, and then asked, “Oh, then the other one is your nephew’s girlfriend?”
Having never cursed in his life, Duan Feihan felt a surge of icy irritation upon hearing this question, and shot back indignantly, “Not in the slightest!”
Duan Feihan… seemed to be quite angry, visibly shaken, his whole body emanating an overwhelming chill that made the onlookers step back subconsciously.
Standing there, Bai Chuwei frowned but eventually asked, “Aren’t you going to treat me to dinner?”
Having casually saved his nephew, they couldn’t really skip treating her to a meal, could they?
