My CEO Husband Has Some Issues

Chapter 294: Being Slapped in the Face

The girl, prideful of her beauty and usually surrounded by a bevy of boys chasing her, suddenly losing face like this in public made it hard for her to save face.

Especially since she had already corrected the pesky kid, telling him to call her “sister.” Yet the little rascal persisted in calling her “auntie,” clearly doing it on purpose!

Damnit!

She bit her silver teeth, ready to lose her temper. Suddenly, a lean figure stepped in front of her, completely blocking her view.

“This… beautiful lady, is there something wrong?”

Even though the man in front of her was wearing a cap, the calm and collected demeanor he exuded made it clear he was the real deal.

The fury she had just kindled was doused by a bucket of ice water, extinguishing it instantly as she meekly said, “No, nothing. I was just playing with the kid because he’s so cute.”

“Is that so? I thought you had been standing here because there was an issue.” Although Rong Yan gave her a way out, his eyes seemed to pierce through all of her shady little thoughts as he looked at her!

Making her feel utterly exposed and awkward, after a couple of stiff smiles, she said, “It’s nothing, just that the child is cute.”

She felt as though the surrounding glances were silently mocking her current embarrassment. She couldn’t stand it for another second and said, “Now that his mom is here, I won’t disturb you any longer. Sorry.”

“You’re not buying a ticket?” Rong Yan called out to her.

“No, I’m not.”

The woman, in her haste to escape, didn’t even care that she hadn’t bought a ticket, and like her butt was on fire, disappeared in the blink of an eye.

Rong Yan turned back, shrugged his shoulders helplessly with a smile that wasn’t quite a smile, and looked at the culprit, saying, “Hey, someone really is trouble. Scared people off without even buying a ticket.”

If Shengxiao hadn’t been so attractive, perhaps he wouldn’t have drawn the butterflies. Instead, he ended up causing the butterflies to not only fail in collecting any honey but also to flee in disarray.

Her teasing was so obvious that Li Shengxiao couldn’t possibly miss it. With a deep side glance, he said, “Back already? It’s too noisy here. I’ll go get the tickets; you take Duidui and wait for me inside.”

It’s clear what kind of “noise” he was referring to.

The girls who were previously crowding around Li Duidui were too embarrassed to stay nearby and had retreated back into their own groups.

Rong Yan watched as just a casual remark from him made all the girls around vanish, and while somewhat impressed, she handed him a cup of juice she held.

“Your juice.”

Li Shengxiao didn’t reach out to take it, his lips perfectly curved up much more warmly than the icy distance he had maintained in Rong Yan’s absence, now as malleable as annealed steel, “Hold it for me. Be a good girl, and wait with Duidui over there.”

Such an ordinary word as “good” spoken from his lips was almost lethal. Rong Yan took Little Baby’s hand, and decisively walked away first.

Ten minutes later, the spirited man with three tickets in his hand strolled under the shade of the trees outside the amusement park.

Rong Yan had been waiting there for him already.

Seeing him approach, she tiptoed to grab a cap from the plastic bag, one just like hers, and put it on his head.

After doing so, she stepped back to size up the man’s handsome visage now partially hidden, and with a satisfied smile said, “There, now we can enjoy ourselves without worry!”

“Oh, and Duidui’s too.”

She pulled out a kid-sized cap from the bag and turned around to place it on the little guy’s head, hiding most of his adorable face and thus fully easing her mind.
