Chapter 258: Ch.257 Civil War

Chapter 258: Ch.257 Civil War

Three killers, completely devoid of feeling.

Sirens from the airships echoed through the skies, and the piercing sound of alarms rang across the city. In an instant, Paris was shrouded under the shadow of war. Numerous military units poured in from different streets, merging into the traffic flow. Meanwhile, a variety of aircraft began enforcing an aerial blockade.

"The Germans are responding faster than I expected. It\'s as if they were already prepared for this," Su Ming commented as he drove, speaking to Halloway, who was sitting in the passenger seat. Halloway, meanwhile, was rummaging through the car\'s glove compartment, which contained various documents and a stash of psychotropic drugs.

"I don\'t know what the Germans are up to, but I can tell you this car\'s owner is definitely an addict. He\'s heavily dependent on antidepressants. His mind must be like a nightclub, always noisy."

Su Ming rolled his eyes and sighed dramatically. "Is this really the time for your professional diagnosis?"

In the back seat, Monarch sat quietly, his eyes closed, mentally preparing for a sorcerer\'s duel. Since the German sorcerers had already appeared, he knew it would be his responsibility to handle the magical combat.

As they got closer, Su Ming steered the car into a narrow alley. They couldn\'t simply arrive at the battlefield alongside the enemy forces—it was better to observe from a safe distance.

Not every district in Paris was an artistic marvel. Where they were now, the conditions were worse than New York\'s Hell\'s Kitchen.

The alley was filled with flowing sewage, litter, and filth, with an unbearable stench in the air. Rats and cockroaches scurried everywhere, completely unafraid of humans. In fact, the large rats seemed to eye them with hunger, as if they had developed a taste for human flesh.

The symbiote extended its tendrils, lifting all three of them onto the rooftop of a nearby building. From below, they could hear the suppressed sobbing of a woman in one of the rooms—a sound of muffled despair, as if she was covering her mouth to keep from being heard.

The rooftop wasn\'t exactly a safe place either. The aerial vehicles above could spot them. But Su Ming just needed a quick look at the battlefield to see who the Germans had surrounded.

As soon as he saw it, he slapped his forehead in frustration.

In the middle of the street, there was a park at a crossroads where a beautiful fountain used to be. Now, it was reduced to rubble, and a chaotic fight was taking place among the burning wreckage.

At the center of the chaos, three women were brawling with each other. Inez had just thrown a punch at Vanessa, who had clearly copied Armor\'s abilities, summoning a psychic exoskeleton to block the attack. Vanessa then kicked at Domino, who narrowly dodged the strike thanks to her luck powers.

The three women fought ferociously, cursing each other the whole time, hurling insults like "bitch" and "whore" as they traded blows.

Meanwhile, Deadpool lay flattened on the ground, his uniform spread out like a rug. His entire body had been crushed, all his bones shattered, making him look like a painting. This was clearly Inez\'s handiwork.

The despair in Deadpool\'s mask was palpable. His eyes—those little white patches on his suit—were filled with hopelessness. His jaw and vocal cords were broken, so he couldn\'t even voice his complaints.

Outside the melee, Cable and Rogue had set up a defensive line, fighting off a barrage of German soldiers. Cable\'s oversized gun was powerful enough to blow a tank apart in one shot, but even he was being forced to constantly move and take cover as the Germans retaliated.

The mutants seemed to be holding their own for now. The defensive members of their group were managing to avoid the energy beams, while Magik\'s soul sword carved through the enemy\'s ranks.

However, there was one problem.

Magik\'s sword, forged from her very soul, was devastating against magical creatures. But when it came to dealing with humans and aliens, it only knocked them unconscious.

It was a weapon that didn\'t kill.

Moreover, Magik\'s sword techniques were developed through fighting giant monsters in Limbo. Her moves were wide, aggressive swings with no room for retreat. On the battlefield, this was a strength when things were going well, but a liability when the tide turned against them.

As for the non-combatants in their group, namely Deadpool\'s buddy Weasel, he had wisely hidden himself in a crater left by the explosions. His ability to play dead was second to none.

"It\'s Wade\'s crew," Su Ming muttered as the three of them floated down from the rooftop and retreated into the alley to change into their gear. The symbiote covered Su Ming\'s body, helping him retrieve his battle armor from the box.

The symbiote had learned to protect itself with armor. While it had a healing factor, that didn\'t mean it couldn\'t feel pain. If there was a way to avoid it, the symbiote would use it.

Su Ming was pleased with this development. Tony Stark might have his fancy mechanical arms to suit up, but mine\'s portable and just as good.

In the few seconds it took to change, Su Ming had already pieced together what had happened. Clearly, Deadpool had been caught by the women. He had managed to slip away in London but had no choice but to travel with them after that.

They all had the same map, which meant they chose Paris as their next destination, arriving around the same time Su Ming and his group did, using Cable\'s teleportation device.

Somewhere along the romantic streets of Paris, something must have triggered a spat between the three women, leading to a massive brawl.

As the fight escalated, Deadpool got squashed into a pancake, and then the Germans surrounded them.

"I thought we\'d finally shaken off your loudmouthed cousin," Halloway said, his voice filled with despair. His eyes glazed over as if Deadpool\'s annoying chatter was already echoing in his ears.

Monarch, on the other hand, merely looked more serious. He pulled a cloth from the car to cover his face. He figured that fighting the Germans in broad daylight warranted some kind of disguise.

The symbiote eagerly handed Su Ming the Night Sword. He took hold of the hilt, giving the blade a test swing, cutting through the air with a sharp sound.

"Alright, here\'s the plan," Su Ming said, using the tip of his sword to draw a rough sketch in the dirt, outlining the positions of both allies and enemies. "I\'ll launch a surprise attack from here, disrupting their formation and drawing attention while taking command of the three squads."

He assigned tasks to the others, gesturing to Halloway.

"Halloway, the Cloak of Levitation will take you directly into the inner circle. Your job is to calm those three women down and gather up what\'s left of Wade. Be ready to evacuate."

Halloway sighed, realizing that the women weren\'t going to be as easy to reason with as Kaecilius. Their expressions showed no signs of calming down anytime soon.

"Why am I always the one sent to talk people down? Sure, I\'m a doctor, but I\'m not a psychiatrist." He kicked at the dirt in frustration, letting the Cloak of Levitation wrap around his head once again.

There was no other choice—his head still needed protection.

Su Ming shrugged. Halloway had a certain calming aura about him that made people feel at ease. And besides, the battlefield didn\'t need his two revolvers that much. His talents were better utilized elsewhere.

Turning to the sorcerer, Su Ming saw that Monarch had already cast several protective spells on himself.

"Monarch, your job is to prepare a large-scale smoke spell and help shield us from any incoming aerial attacks. If necessary, you\'ll also need to cast a spell for our retreat."

Monarch nodded, understanding his role in the upcoming battle.

With the plan set, it was time to act.
