Multiverse: Deathstroke

Chapter 97: Ch.96 Battle

Chapter 97: Ch.96 Battle

What "telephone pole," "big bamboo stick," or "white pillar"—these were all nicknames Deathstroke used to describe her legs. She knew her legs were straight and pale, and someone as irreverent as Deathstroke would always bring them up. Over time, it had become her exclusive nickname.

In the past, whenever he said these things, it was always to provoke her, trying to anger her into making a mistake. But now, hearing it, she felt oddly reassured.

"Slade, I didn\'t expect you would be the one to come rescue me." She placed her hand in Deathstroke\'s, and he pulled her up in one swift motion.

Su Ming chuckled and shook his head. He wasn\'t the Deathstroke of the main universe, but using this nickname he learned from the comics was a quick way to prove his identity.

"Heh, now you see why Earthlings are more reliable? Your Kryptonian boy toy is currently being used as a battery."

Wonder Woman furrowed her brow. She noticed that Deathstroke seemed to have shrunk by about ten centimeters. Last time they met, she only reached his eye level, but now they were about the same height.

However, this was no time for small talk. Hearing that familiar nickname, Diana immediately believed in his identity. In a situation like this, a ruthless and decisive person like Deathstroke was indeed more reliable than Superman or Batman.

Diana had no hesitation in summoning her killing intent. This was for justice.

"Let me deal with this guy first, then I\'ll go help those other big boys who\'ve fallen." She picked up her sword and shield again, eyes scanning the distant darkness, searching for the Merciless.

"Sounds good. I\'ve saved Earth -11 and rescued Barry who got trapped there. Now I\'ve come to save you. I have a little piece of paper filled with numbers that might need Bruce\'s signature."

Su Ming discarded the divine metal AK-47. Despite its rapid-fire capability and the fact that he had landed dozens of bullets on the target\'s head, the Merciless was still up and moving.

"Barry? You saved him?" Diana asked in surprise, knowing that the Speed Force could provide a lot of help. "Where is he?"

"Ahem... right behind you, Diana."

Barry sighed helplessly as he looked at Deathstroke and Diana chatting away. It seemed she hadn\'t even noticed him behind her, focusing solely on Deathstroke. Wonder Woman\'s face showed a hint of embarrassment, and she hugged Barry warmly, making his face turn beet red.

Meanwhile, Su Ming kept an eye on the movements in the distance while walking over to the weapons rack and picking up the God Killer.

While Wonder Woman and the Merciless had been grappling, Su Ming and Barry had arrived just in time. According to the plan, Barry had quietly planted a divine metal grenade on the other side of the giant coin and pulled the pin. When the Merciless struck the gong, it exploded.

Observing the battlefield, Su Ming had immediately recognized the God Killer. Among all the weapons, it shone the brightest, like a crescent moon.

This weapon didn\'t contain any "metal." It was purely an energy weapon made of solar god power. Its greatest advantage was that it could change its form according to the user\'s will.

As long as you held it, with a single thought, it would transform into the most suitable size and weight for you, whether it was a cold or hot weapon, a human or alien design—it could replicate any weapon structure that you could conceive of in your mind.

As soon as he reached out, the weapon fell into Su Ming\'s hand, emitting a fierce brilliance that illuminated his armor.

"Kill, kill, kill..."

An overwhelming killing intent surged from the blade up his arm and into his brain. It thirsted for battle, like a gentle voice whispering incessantly. It had once slaughtered billions in another world, and now it was in the hands of another warrior.

Having read the comics, Su Ming was prepared. He knew all too well the nature of this weapon. The comic version of Deathstroke had wielded the God Killer without losing control, so he believed he could do the same.

His heart pounded fiercely for a moment as that bloodthirsty desire returned, but it soon settled down. He didn\'t want to be controlled by a weapon, so he wouldn\'t be. He casually pulled out his Sword of Ares and tossed it to Diana, who blinked in confusion as she looked at the two identical swords in her hands.

"???"

"Here, I\'m giving you the Sword of Ares. The God Killer is mine now, no need to thank me."

With a smooth motion, he sheathed the God Killer at his waist.

Despite being a curved blade, it flowed like liquid, fitting perfectly into the scabbard that was half its size.

Having the God Killer in Deathstroke\'s hands was like giving a tyrant a nuclear bomb—far too dangerous. Diana wanted to say something but found herself at a loss for words. Given the current state of the world, it seemed necessary for Deathstroke to wield this weapon.

Su Ming didn\'t care about Diana\'s gaze. Now that the God Killer was in his hands, there was no way he\'d let it go.

He unsheathed the Nightfall greatsword from his back, the black blade shimmering with a dark glow.

"Let\'s see where the Merciless is hiding."

Su Ming held the greatsword and began moving through the rows of display cases. The underground chamber was enormous, but the only lit area was the small section where Diana and the others were standing.

The Merciless had taken cover in the darkness. Even though he was a nightmare Batman, only he could manage to sneak around in full plate armor over two meters tall.

Su Ming\'s night-vision goggles picked up nothing unusual. Finding him in a short time seemed impossible, but they currently controlled the entrance, trapping the Merciless deeper in the cave.

Su Ming still had plans to implement. He couldn\'t afford to waste too much time here with the Merciless.

"Bruce! Is this how your Diana taught you to be a coward?"

He knew the Merciless craved battle. At this moment, he was probably not planning to flee but to eliminate everyone. If he were in the Merciless\' position, his first target would be the Flash, as he posed the greatest threat.

Barry might not kill, but the Speed Force was a real pain. As long as Barry was present, the Merciless\' plans couldn\'t be carried out effectively.

The best option now was to have Flash flush him out. While the Merciless, as the War God, was not slow, he was still no match for the Speed Force.

Su Ming motioned to Barry, who immediately came over. Su Ming whispered a series of instructions in his ear. Though Barry had some reservations, he ultimately nodded and vanished in a flash.

In the next instant, Wonder Woman suddenly held the Lasso of Truth, which stretched taut, extending straight into the dark depths of the storage area.

The rope vibrated violently, sweeping away the surrounding display cases and treasures. Diana gritted her teeth, holding onto the lasso tightly.

Su Ming knew time was short. The damned War God Helm could infinitely amplify the Merciless\' strength. It was his turn now.

He immediately charged with the greatsword towards the direction where the lasso pointed.

Right at that moment, a sharp screeching sound echoed, and the Lasso of Truth, glowing golden, suddenly snapped like a noodle, falling to the ground in pieces.

The War God\'s power had torn it apart. A divine artifact was shredded as if it were an ordinary rope.
