The Divine Wolf... or?

Chapter 140: Explanation.

Oddly enough, her new body felt natural, and she wasn\'t freaked out about it. Even if she was still a little taken aback, she knew that it was a side-effect of getting her name. But that assumption only gave her another question, why would she turn into a human just because she got a name from Ark?

Of course, this was because Ark could turn into a human, which also meant that this new body of hers was only temporary.

Temporary or not, Ephine had no idea, and she didn\'t really care either way, she was still the same being anyways, nothing would change except for what she could do and her appearance, which wasn\'t something that she had ever thought about before. And why would she, she had no reason to do so, as that wasn\'t something a normal wolf would care about.

Atar wasn\'t as intelligent as his mother, but he was occupied with testing out his new body, rather than thinking about why he was in it, or what it meant.

Her glance found her way to Ark again, and she quickly noticed that he refused to look at her body at all, which for her, was pretty weird. Why would he feel shy with watching the body of a human? Unless… Before she could finish that train of thought, Ark disappeared in the blink of an eye.

Ark was using his cellular mana infusion skill to run as fast as he could, straight back to where they had just been fighting with humans. Since both Atar and Ephine had turned into humans, Ark knew that he had to tell them about his other form, and maybe a little about his life as well.

He wasn\'t in a bad mood though, he needed to tell them eventually, and the world had just presented him with a perfect chance to tell them, why would he not want to take it?

Since he couldn\'t just talk to them naked, and since he didn\'t want to see them stark naked either, he was going to get them some clothes. Even if these clothes had just been on corpses, Ark didn\'t think that they would care. Some of the clothes weren\'t even really ruined, they were only stained with blood, which was something that Ark could get rid of with his water magic anyways.

After looking around the battlefield for a while, not only did Ark find some clothes, he found a couple of spatial bags as well, which would actually help him a lot, as this meant that he would be able to enter cities and buy whatever he needed.

The clothes that he picked out for himself were really simple, and there were a few small holes in them, but nothing that he cared about, and nothing that was really noticeable. Even though he knew that he had to tell them, Ark was still a little nervous, he didn\'t know how they were going to react. Would they start to hate him? Would they accept him anyways? Would they even care in the first place?

Ark wasn\'t entirely sure, but he sincerely hoped that they would give him a chance.

From Atar\'s and Ephine\'s perspective, Ark just suddenly disappeared without saying anything. Half a minute later, they could hear someone appearing. When they saw who turned up in front of them, they both instantly turned defensive, and both got ready to defend themselves. Instead of Ark who they had expected, a human male had shown up in front of them all of a sudden.

Before they could freak out or attack him, Ark tried his best to calm them down.

"Don\'t worry, it\'s only me, Ark!"

As he spoke, he forgot entirely that he was talking in human language, and he wasn\'t really sure if they could even understand what he was saying. Fortunately, he could see apparent signs that they were surprised by what he said, which indicated that they had understood what he was saying. At least Ark figured that it was a fairly safe assumption to make.

"You\'re Ark? But how?"

Ephine was the first to question him, but she seemed to be rather open-minded about the whole situation, and her hostility was already gone.

"Papa?"

The cub only looked at him curiously, and didn\'t seem to care at all that he was a human all of a sudden.

Just this was enough for Ark to calm down a little, as he decided to fully explain what was going on, at least to the best of his abilities.

"I\'m not really sure where to begin, but as you might\'ve already guessed, I\'m not just a normal wolf."

From there, Ark briefly explained the fact that he was both human and wolf and some of the things that he had been through so far. He tried to make it as concrete and easy to understand as he could, but it still sounded a little weird.

He left out some particular facts like the fact that he was from another world, as there was no need to talk about it right now, it would only further complicate the situation, and Ark didn\'t have the patience to do that right now.

He also explained how he was able to turn into a human, and how they were suddenly turned into humans as well. Atar just curiously listened to him, without a single worry in the world. Human or wolf, it didn\'t matter to the cub, Ark had been there for them when they needed him the most, and he had already grown to depend on him.

Ephine was a little less naïve than her son, but she was still just sitting there and listening to Ark.

Fascinated by Ark\'s stories and explanations, she simply stared him straight into his eyes, and listened intently on what he was saying. Ark noticed her stare, and returned the favour. As he did, he remembered that neither of them had any clothes on, and he quickly retrieved the clothes that he had picked out and cleaned for them earlier.

Contrary to his expectation, when Ark threw the clothes in front of them, both Ephine and Atar just looked curiously at the clothes, before tilting their heads, and shifting their gaze to Ark. Ark quickly realised his mistake, how were they supposed to know how to put on human clothes? Of course they wouldn\'t know what to do in such a situation.

Ark quickly helped Atar to put on his attire, which was a little too big for him, as there were no children present during the battle, but it would just have to do the job until Ark could get something better for him.

After Ark had helped Atar, there was only Ephine left, who eagerly waited for his help…
