Genetic Ascension

Chapter 475: Ridiculous

Chapter 475: Ridiculous

The obvious choice seemed to be the highest-rated skill, but there were too many variables in play.

On the one hand, thanks to Extricate, Rune Soul, and his Dual Class Constitution, Sylas had more understanding of his body than practically anyone on Earth right now. And he believed that included the Sylphs.

This meant that he was uniquely suited to grasping a Gene Skill in general, let alone a Gene Skill that was so compatible with him.

But, on the other hand, the power of <Cyrobane Elevation> was not his Stat Limit-which it could elevate-but rather his Gene Limit.

He could easily imagine a future where <Cyrobane Elevation> wanted to improve his Stat Limit, but couldn\'t because he either didn\'t have the Genes for it or he had already reached his Gene Limit.

It had to be remembered that Classes could increase Stat Limits, but not Gene Limits. This meant that if his Stat Limit overran his Gene Limits, he would not only lose his State of Wealth, but he would also lose the effectiveness of <Cryobane Elevation> as well.

If he was already at his Gene Limit, there would be no Stat Limit to push.

Regardless of his advantages, this Gene Skill would be extremely difficult to make use of. If by the time he finally mastered it to Legendary it became useless... well, it would be a great shame.

This seemed to be the real reason this was only considered to be an F- Gene Skill.

The problems with <Chilled Rise> and <Surfing Frost> were more obvious. The consumption of Aether was astronomical for both of them, and if Sylas used them how he wanted to, it would become more so.

Ironically, despite being the highest-level skill of them all, <Cryobane Elevation> probably had the lowest Aether requirements.

And when you got into the details, it became even worse.

[Surfing Frost (FFF+) (Skill)]

[The world is your frosted oyster; land, the seas, and even the sky are your board. Glide across them all and grasp the universe in your palms.]

[At the cost of 1 Unit of Aether per minute, attaching Surfing Frost to your feet to glide across the land.]

[At the cost of <5> Units of Aether per minute, attaching Surfing Frost to your feet to glide across the sea.]

[At the cost of <20> Units of Aether per minute, attaching Surfing Frost to your feet to glide across the skies.]

[Note: Pace of Surfing Frost production is limited to Average of Intelligence and Speed. To move faster, more Units of Aether must be used.]

[Cost: 120,000 (F) Coins]

[Chilled Rise (FFF+) (Skill)]

[The air is yours to rise above. Welcome the Chilling Rise of a true glider.]

[<1> Unit of Aether per minute to lower body weight.]

[<5> Units of Aether to increase jump height.]

[<20> Units of Aether to perform a Double Jump.]

[<50> Units of Aether to glide for <1> second.]

[Cost: 135,000 (F) Coins]

The cost was obviously excessive. But the note on <Surfing Frost> was incredibly troubling. He had 520 Speed, but only 427 Intelligence. That meant that using this skill would actually make him slower.

The rate-limiting step of <Surfing Frost> was obviously the creation of the Frost itself, and that took time. If he wasn\'t creating the roads fast enough, there would be nothing to "surf."

[Cryobane Elevation (F-) (Gene Skill)]

[Your body is a den of Ice and Poison, so make use of it. Supercharge your Speed and Dexterity fibers, and chill them to within maintainable levels.]

[<5> Units of Aether a minute per use in exchange for a <50% > increase to Speed and Dexterity Stat Limit.]

[Cost: 950,000 (F) Coins]

Sylas\' gaze flickered. In the end, it seemed that <Cryobane Elevation> would just have to be the one he went with.

\'The lack of flexibility with <Cryobane Elevation> is a true problem. If only I could fuse them...\'

After some thought, Sylas chose to exchange for all three skills. If his mastery increased enough, the cost would go down. In addition, his Rune Soul would be of great help.

With Rune Soul, he should be able to accelerate the creation of Frost and control the gliding of <Chilled Rise> even better.

Ultimately, he could only be certain if he actually tried first, and honestly speaking, since the cost of <Cryobane Elevation> was so high, it made the price of the first two easier to swallow. Even if it ended up being a waste of money in the end, it was worth it.

He planned on taking a day after this to really drill with these skills in a way he never had before because he never had the time. He would know soon whether he made the right

decision or not.

\'Oh?\'

Sylas was about to go and see what kind of armors he could buy for the Arctic Emperor Cobra to elevate its battle prowess again, or maybe see if he could find a way to get it to Quasi Bronze, but he paused soon after.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

He had entered a section for beasts, so there were obviously beast-related items all around him. What he hadn\'t considered before, though maybe he should have, was the possibility of buying a beast.

There were beast eggs present for sale, and even some live beasts, something that he hadn\'t seen in the Bronze Nexus and clearly represented an upgrade of some sort.

\'Maybe I can find something here...\'

If there was someone on the planet that cared the least about the time he would have to wait for a beast to hatch and grow, it was Sylas.

Wasn\'t that exactly what the Hibernation Realm was for?

If he could find even a Bronze Beast here, it would be a huge profit. He had been able to make

the Arctic Emperor Cobra so strong, and it was a mere Common Beast.

Of course, he had also had an advantage. After all, the Arctic Emperor Cobra followed his Path

of the Mancer. So it was much easier to upgrade it.

But who said he couldn\'t find another Ice-Poison beast here?

However, when Sylas started seriously looking, eliminating all but the Serpentes, he couldn\'t

help but frown.

These prices... weren\'t they too ridiculous?
