Chapter 255: Excelsior

Chapter 255: Excelsior

The elites divided themselves into three groups. One group led by Ed to attack Poison sect. his group had Emilia, Bella, and the Sword sect members along with Edmund. The second group was led by Arthur and was going to attack another stronghold of Blood sect in a different continent. The last group was led by Hayato and was going to attack another continent. Each group had only one thing to focus on, which made it easier for them to complete their assignments.

Arthur\'s group consisted of the nine Elders of Avalon, Elizabeth, Sebas, and other disciples of the sect joined as an extra force as well. As for Hayato\'s group, he led the forces of both Ryuu kingdom and Scale kingdom. Eric joined him as well, as they proved to be quite a good combination in the last war.

The leaders of each group met up and led their troops. They bought teleportation items for all of their troops and decided on a strategically important position beforehand. The teleportation items were the same one used by No-b two years ago. Small round ball with no defining color.

"I wish you luck," said Arthur as he turned around and headed to his group. He and his army were the first to teleport away.

"No time to waste, huh?" Hayato said as he looked at the dust raised by the disappearing mini army. "I guess we should head out as well. All the best to you, Edward!"

"Same for you" Ed softly spoke as he waited until Hayato\'s group disappeared as well. "It\'s time for us to leave as well. Everyone prepare yourselves!"

Ed addressed his group, but there was no need to say anything. All of them were ready, with the greatest morale, and the most important goal. Nothing could make them more prepared than their current state. Since Ed was able to teleport, his group didn\'t need any teleportation items. Instead, they kept extras, in case they needed to escape.

However, these items were considered a waste of space by everyone. No one thought about escaping. No one ever thought about living after defeat. They were going to fight until death. They were either going to emerge as victorious or lay dead amongst their comrades.

The three groups that teleported were met with a colossal army each. One week ago, their plans were found out by Blood sect, which gave it enough time to prepare for countermeasures. However, Avalon and its allies realized this in time and prepared themselves as well. This was one of the reasons why they chose to send only the elites. In order to lessen the amount of blood spilled on their side, their strongest fighters would release devastating attacks at the very start of the war, which would kill most of the weak enemy soldiers.

This plan was exactly what the three groups did.

Ed, Arthur, and Hayato each stepped in front of their respective groups. Ed withdrew his favorite sword, Shusui, while Hayato used Asmodeus. Arthur had no choice but to use the weapon made by Ed, which was more than enough for him.

Hayato gathered up QI in his sword and filled it with elemental magic. It was his strongest technique, the \'Void Slash\'. The slash took the enemy soldiers by surprise, as they didn\'t think they would be attacked so quickly. And since this technique devoured anything in its way, it filled the enemies with terror. Hayato took this chance and shouted, "Chaaaaaarge!"

After which his group started its assault on the Blood sect\'s stronghold.

Arthur channeled Lightning through his sword. The silver bladed sword turned yellow, gradually, as lightning bolts crackled around it. The enemy soldiers were quick to react on this battlefield, as they moved in to attack Arthur, but it was to no avail. Just as fast as a lightning bolt, the electric attack decimated the thousands of minions in front of him.

Arthur pointed his sword towards the army in front of him, and shouted, "No return!"

His comrades released their inner anger as they all shouted at the same time. The enemies froze from fear, and couldn\'t do anything in the face of the rampaging Avalon forces.

In the case of Ed, he didn\'t need to do much. He simply filled his entire sword with KI, clad it in Haki, filled it with the elements he could control, and charged it with his Hatsu, \'Final Countdown\'. Right after finishing his preparation, Ed disappeared. The enemies in front of him were taken aback and kept staring at their two sides. They heard about Ed\'s teleportation abilities and were afraid he would pop up from behind one of them.

A minute passed, and everyone started to get cocky. The soldiers started to march forward, towards those that remained behind Ed. However, just like that, Ed appeared in front of them once again. His sword crackling with black lightning around it.

"Providence Blade," Ed said calmly, as he slashed his sword sideways. Dark light blinded his enemies, leaving them defenseless, as they raised their hands to protect their eyes. Yet, what they failed to realize was, even with their hands, and their defenses, there was nothing they could have done in the face of Ed\'s strongest technique.

Ed didn\'t simply disappear. He teleported into his own dimension, where he set the time for a 1:10 ratio. He had charged his sword for ten minutes, the same amount of time it was needed to kill the twelfth-floor dragon from the Tower of Origin. No one among the lowly soldiers stood a chance. But, they didn\'t suffer. Just as quickly as the black light took their sight, the sword slash took their lives.

The black slash kept decimating the enemies, as if it was a hungry grim reaper, looking for souls to feast upon. In five seconds only, the enemies\' army lost its middle portion completely. Only the left and right wing remained. The enemies remained motionless, as they couldn\'t believe their eyes. One attack. Their greatest force was decimated, and all it took was one attack. Needless to say, their morale was broken.

Ed stuck his sword in the ground, raised his KI, and shouted, "EXCELSIOR!"
